Finding Aliens; Costs Money

SETI Institute came to General Things Inc. in search of a unique and innovative way for them to get their telescope back up and operational, in May of 2011, I worked closely with Ryan Hennessey, Project Manager & Nick Hodulik, CEO, to design and build a fun & social way to get donations from the many SETI supporters around the world.

The project encompassed using payment gateways, to accept donations, as well as still making it easy for the user to give out their information. Plus make it inviting and fun enough for them to come back. By using gamification like challenges, and referral programs we were able to liven a large goupe of participants and with in the first 30 day after launching we raised $200,000 for the SETI Institue, enough for them to bring the telescope back up.
